3 Key Ingredients To A Successful Website Launch

by EBB Web Design on September 22, 2012

Launching a new website can be a bit frightening; you hope it’s a huge success, but you can’t be sure. Wouldn’t it be great if you could launch your site and be flooded with targeted traffic within seconds? While that’s not realistic, there are some things you can do to ensure that the right people (your target audience) are aware of your gorgeous (and hopefully information packed) new website.

Here are 3 steps you should take to ensure your website launch is successful:

  1. Submit a press release regarding your website launch. It’s big news when you launch your website, and you should share it all over the web. People (and search engines like Google) love news, and they share it. Submit your press release to sites like PRWeb, OnlinePRMedia and Business Wire, and be sure to link to your website!
  2. Start blogging, and don’t stop. We can’t stress enough how important blogging is to the success of your website. Upon launching your site, start blogging – and do it frequently. Search engines love fresh content that’s updated on a regular basis. When your website is “thick” with content, Google takes notice.
  3. Social media isn’t just for making friends – it IS your friend. Don’t neglect the power of social media today in not only building a high rank, but attracting your target audience. Announce your new website on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, then contribute often. Don’t just promote – get involved in conversations. Your goal is to get your target audience talking, get feedback, and targeted traffic.

Let’s face it, if no one knows about your new website, no one will ever see it! It’s also a good idea to have your URL printed on business cards and to send out an email to everyone in your address book. Be creative – think of any way to get the word out, whether online or off.

You may notice that all 3 of these key ingredients for launching your website have something in common – content! It’s what drives the web. Valuable, fresh content whether through the pages of your website, your blog, press releases, videos on YouTube or social media will lead you down the path to success.
